Discussion on Vamshavriksha & Samskara

Vamshavriksha (Uprooted) by S. L. Bhyrappa and U.R. Ananthamurthy’s Samskara have acquired cult status over the years. Both texts have led to much churning in the Kannada language and literature, adapted into award winning films, and have enriched the charged Kannada milieu of the 70s and beyond. A fascinating discussion with Dr. T.S. Satyanath, former Professor of Comparative Literature, Delhi University, Prof. Rashmi Doraiswamy, Film scholar and culture critic, Jamia Millia Islamia and Prof. Rita Kothari, translator and literary theorist, Ashoka University is planned as the first in the bimonthly series on Modern Indian Classics.
