Still Dirty - Jeet Thayil’s Band

Still Dirty

Jeet Thayil’s Band

Still Dirty is Jeet Thayil’s nomadic music project that originated in Berlin in 2013. The New Delhi edition took shape with the inclusion of Anup Kutty, Tony Guinard, Akshat Taneja, Shardul Mehta and various musicians from the city’s independent music scene. Collaborative, texture heavy and psychotropic, Still Dirty is poetry with sound. The band has performed at the Delhi Photo Festival, the Jaipur Literary Festival, the CALM Festival in Shillong and the Amarrass Desert Festival to excellent reviews.

The current line-up is:

Tony Guinard, bass. Tony is a writer and musician, who also works with Emperor Minge, Jazz B’Stards and The SkaVengers.

Anup Kutty, guitars & vox. Anup is a writer, editor, restaurateur and musician. He is a founder member of Menwhopause.

Shardul Mehta, drums. Shardul also works with Joint Family, The Sundog Project and Midival Pundits.

Akshat Taneja, keys. Akshat also works with Faridkot and Udan Tashteri.

Jeet Thayil, vox & guitars. Poet, novelist and musician, Jeet is also one half of the band Sridhar/Thayil.
